To declare something is to confidently and boldly say it out loud. It is shouting from the rooftops for everyone to hear what you know is aligned with the will of God. To declare is to make clear to anyone who hears you the ground that you are standing on.
A word spoken is a thing established. “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways” (Job 22:28 AMP).
To decree is to issue an authoritative command that goes along with what it is you have declared. It is not by your authority, but by the authority of Jesus Christ that the thing you have declared is now decreed.
You need to walk in the authority that Jesus has given you. “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19 NKJV).
To declare is to draw a line that you can step over and never return. To decree is to step over that line and to agree with the Lord that you will never go back. Jesus gives us the authority to declare and decree, and the Holy Spirit gives us the power to do it.
For some things, you need to draw a line, step over it, and then vow to never return. “You certainly heard about him, and as his followers you were taught the truth that is in Jesus. So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new” (Ephesians 4:21-23 GNT).
The Lord can hear our thoughts, but everyone else can only hear what we say. When we declare a thing, we are announcing our intentions before God and man, before angels and demons, declaring what we believe and what we intend to do.
The words you speak lay the path you’ll walk on. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]” (Proverbs 18:21 AMPC).
We carry little weight on our own and have very little authority over the world around us. But by the authority given to us by Christ, His authority, we can shake the gates of hell and command the demonic spirits to depart from us and others.
As Christians, we grossly underestimate the true power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. Jesus taught, “These are the miraculous signs that will accompany believers: They will use the power and authority of my name to force demons out of people. They will speak new languages. They will pick up snakes, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them. They will place their hands on the sick and cure them” (Mark 16:17-18 GW).
Declare and decree that the devil has no business being in your home. Anoint with holy oil every door, every window, every electronic device, every communication portal, and declare and decree your home belongs to the Lord.
Don’t let the devil win this round. If you ask God to help you, He most certainly will. “So place yourselves under God’s authority. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you” (James 4:7 GW).
Declare and decree that the devil has no right over your mind or your body. You have been bought with a price, with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, and you are not for sale. Stop entertaining the darkness and let His light shine in your life.
The world says don’t forget “who” you are. God says don’t forget “whose” you are. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 AMP).
Declare and decree that the Lord rules in your heart, and it is God whom you serve and not man. Agree with the Word that the Lord is always with you and declare out loud that He is. Now decree by His authority that the devil will never reign in you.
It’s by God’s design that what comes against us reveals how much we allow God to reign in us. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4 NKJV).
Declare and decree that nothing can separate you from the love of God. The devil may tempt you, and man may attack you, but the Lord is the ruler over them all. Trust that He has you, and prove your trust by the peace that you have.
Nobody can separate you from God except yourself. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming, neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39 CJB).
It is not enough to declare a thing since you’re only speaking the truth, but not putting it into action. When we declare a thing, we are telling the truth. When we decree a thing, we are taking that truth and putting it into law.
It’s not enough to know the truth, but you must live it. “But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]” (James 1:22 AMP).
What is it in your life that you need to declare and decree a change to happen right now? Don’t wait, pray about it, declare what must be said, and decree that by the authority of Jesus Christ it will come to be.
Stop putting off to tomorrow what you should have changed years ago. “So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God’s likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy” (Ephesians 4:22-24 GNT).
You would be shocked by what could happen in your life and the lives around you if you simply declare and decree for it to come to pass. Stop doubting what God can do and pray right now that it will happen.
You’d be shocked at how much God can help you if you’d only ask Him. “…You do not have what you want because you do not ask God for it” (James 4:2 GNT).

spirit of debt, spirit of lack, spirit of financial bondage, I address you now not in my own name, but in the name above every name for it is written that every knee will bow of those in heaven, on the earth and under the earth. Therefore I address the spirits of debt, lack, and poverty which include poverty of the mind that you by the authority abiding in me through the finished work of the cross to loose your claims, curses, and holds on my prosperity.
The blood covenant of Jesus Christ abiding with my Spirit has released me from the curse of the law and nailed to the cross of Calvary the decrees and certificates of debt toward me.
I have been given the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions. I now exercise that authority by commanding the spirits of debt, lack, and poverty in every form to release your holds upon me and my household.
Further every blessing and breakthrough that has been held back I now command to be released.
Leave my household now for you have no legal authority to stay. I enforce the total victory of the cross. Go I say in Jesus name!

This is so good! So many need to hear this and proclaim this over their lives and the lives of those they love. This spirit of poverty promotes a distrust in God and his ability to care for us and show us favor. When we look inward we will find only what is lacking but when we look upward we will always find an abundance. The world today is always wanting to keep us wanting, to never be satsfied, to always show us one more thing, that if only we would have it, we would be fulfilled. But the second we get it, there is always one more thing. Thank you for posting this!
