The Measure of Your Faith

There are many measurements that we can have in our lives. We can measure how much money we have, how well we’re doing at our job, and what we’re accomplishing in life. But there’s no measure in our lives that’s more important than the measure of our faith.

You’ll go higher in your faith by yielding to God rather than striving on your own. “Let God’s Spirit make you think in a new way” (Ephesians 4:23 EASY).

The measure of your faith will determine the peace you have. If you have faith that God can do anything, then there’s nothing that will worry you. You will simply take every issue to God and know that He is able to do anything.

The more you believe, the less you will worry. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises” (Romans 15:13 AMP).

The measure of your faith will determine how you feel when you’re broke or when you’re worried about losing your job. If you really had a bigger faith, you would know that God can provide everything you need.

Where you look first is what you trust most. “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things [your needs] will be provided to you” (Matthew 6:33 NASB).

Having faith is having trust. If you have faith, you trust God. You trust that He can help you. You trust that He is with you. You trust that He will provide everything you need. You trust that if He is allowing you to suffer, He has a reason for it.

It’s more important that you trust the Lord in your circumstances than you understand why He allowed them. “Those who suffer because that is God’s will for them must entrust themselves to a faithful creator and continue to do what is good” (1 Peter 4:19 NOG).

Having faith is believing. Do you really believe that He can help you? Do you believe that God can heal anything? It’s a small thing for God to heal somebody from a disease. God is able to raise somebody from the dead.

Peter had faith that Tabitha could be raised from the dead, and his faith stirred up faith in others. “Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up …he presented her alive. And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord” (Acts 9:41-42 NKJV).

Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Think about that. The belief you have determines what is possible in your life as you’re praying. Some people pray, but they don’t believe. What about you? Can you believe?

The measure of your faith is equal to the measure of your expectation that God will do the requests that you bring to Him in prayer. “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes’” (Mark 9:23 NKJV).

A lot of us think we have faith until we have something coming against us. Then, suddenly, we’re in panic mode. It’s the things we feel are out of our control that reveal to us the faith that we have. In your circumstances, God asks, “Will you trust Me?”

Your trust in God must be at its highest when your understanding of what He is doing is at its lowest. “Even if God kills me, I will still trust him…” (Job 13:15 EASY).

Don’t worry about whether Jesus will find faith in others; what about you? What is the measure of your faith? Do you really believe? Because if you really believe, then all things are possible. You’ll pray for the impossible because you know that He can do it.

It is not what you know that Jesus is interested in, but what you believe. Jesus said, “…when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8 NKJV). Knowledge says mountains can be moved; faith does it.

The measure of your faith is more important than the measure of all the other things that you have in your life. Whether you have money and good health, or not, those measures are meaningless in comparison to the measure of your faith.

It is not what you do for the Lord that is the measure of your faith, but what you allow Him to do in you. “Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him” (Romans 12:2 CEV).

If you don’t have a great faith, then pray for it. Scripture says God gives each one of us a measure of faith. Have you asked Him to give you more faith? Ask Him. The apostles did. Never miss a benefit because you never asked for it.

You can’t blame God for not answering a request that you never made to Him. “…You do not have because you do not ask God” (James 4:2 NIV).

The man who was asking for his son to be healed said to Jesus, “If You can.” And Jesus said, “What do you mean, if I can? If you can believe, all things are possible.” The man said back to Him, “I believe, but help me in my unbelief.”

That is the fact and the truth for every one of us. We have faith, but we need more. We need to pray for it. We need to be real and not have this naive, deceptive idea that we have some great faith when, in reality, we have only a little faith.

Be honest with how weak your faith is, then ask the Lord to help you. “Jesus said to him, ‘[You say to Me,] ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me]!’ Immediately the father of the boy cried out [with a desperate, piercing cry], saying, ‘I do believe; help [me overcome] my unbelief.’” (Mark 9:23-24 AMP).

Jesus said that if you have a little faith, you can move a mountain. How many mountains have you moved? Do you believe you can move a mountain? Ask Him for greater faith. Pray for greater faith. Go after greater faith.

You can’t move a mountain by might but by faith. It’s by this same principle that God can change you. “If you have faith in God and don’t doubt, you can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will. Everything you ask for in prayer will be yours, if you only have faith” (Mark 11:23-24 CEV).

Make it your life’s mission not to worry about anything. The next time you’re anxious, give it to God in faith. Whatever your pain is, put it in front of God and say, “God, help me to have faith to get through this.” Then watch what will happen.

If you really believed that God can do anything, then you’d pray about everything.

Jesus promised: “Everything is possible with God” (Mark 10:27 NLT).

Jesus promised: “Anything is possible if a person believes” (Mark 9:23 NLT).

Paul wrote: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything” (Philippians 4:6 NLT).

Stop looking at the waves. Look to Jesus. Have faith that He will help you do it. Walk on water. You would be shocked at what God can do once you have faith. The measure of your faith can be greater than the measure of all the things that are coming against you.

Don’t look at the waves; look at Jesus. “…Jesus went to them, walking on the sea …Peter…walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out…” (Matthew 14:25,29,30 NKJV).

Blessings to you always,
