You were meant for something more

People search and study, seeking ways to overcome and be something more. We don’t need another program, we need the Holy Spirit. The problem we have is not the lack of programs, but the lack of Holy Spirit power in our lives. The problem today is we have more people that speak of this power than walk in it. We cannot be who we were meant to be apart from the indwelling power of God within.

The problem we run into is thinking we are not able. We are unable, but He is able. The problem we have is in thinking His power is dependent on us. But it is us who is dependent on Him. And it is only when we finally get it, and rely completely upon Him, do we then begin to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The problem we have is we don’t really believe that He can do what He said He can do. We read the Word, we understand the Word, but we don’t really believe it in our heart. It is one thing to know a verse, and quite another to walk in the power of a verse.

People spend more time arguing doctrines than living them. And once a doctrine is lived, then it can never again be argued. Truth lived out always trumps the empty arguments of doctrines only studied. Yet people dig their heels into their empty beliefs, holding tight to the traditions of man as if Christ’s honor depended upon it. And in so doing hate their neighbors and violate the foundation of God’s word, “…all the law is fulfilled…in this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’” (Galatians 5:14). The greatest hypocrite in your life is the one that looks back at you in the mirror every morning.

There is no wall higher that you must tear down to become the something more than that of your own building. You can be intellectually correct and spiritually corrupt, but never the other way around. Seek first spiritual truths that you can set your intellectual pillars upon the righteous foundations. It is the blindness of man that prevents him from seeing the simplest of truths, and it is the pride of man that convinces him that he is right in the midst of his greatest error. Nowhere in history was this more evident, than the religious leaders who conspired to kill the Lamb of God. It is your pride that convinces you that you are different than the men who did this. Your not different, only your error is unique.

The danger we have is in thinking that we ourselves are somehow different. That we are somehow more educated, more enlightened, more revelatory such that we would never be blinded to the truths of God. It is in the arrogance of our thinking that produces the darkness to our spiritual minds. You may have the most brilliant natural mind known to man, but it is trumped by a single thought produced from a child that expresses a simple faith in the Son of God.

We say we believe, until we really have to. A child says they believe, and they just believe. We don’t need to mature upwards, but to tear downwards, that we would be freed from all that prevents us from becoming the more.

Becoming the something more is not about gaining fame or wealth, but losing everything that the more would not be of yourself. Everything in your natural is darkness, so much so that Scripture says “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8). Most read this and love the poetry, but are lost on the meaning. You cannot learn spiritual truths searching with natural instruments. If you are born of light, then how can darkness remain? It cannot.

One in a thousand will be saved. And from those, one in a thousand will be sanctified on earth. And of those, one in a thousand will become the something more. In man’s view we imagine this to be someone of great strength, a determined will, a spiritually gifted soul, a respected leader in the Church. But the Lord Jesus never operated on worldly rules, but kingdom principles. He did not choose the great men of Israel to lead His church, but the outcast. All you have to be is willing, and the God of this universe will call legions of His Holy angels to help you become the something more.

So be willing.
