Every day that you wake up, there is an opportunity to change your life for the better. For the believer who really believes that God can do anything and is willing to let Him do as He pleases, the possibilities are endless with what God can do in their life.
Stop putting off to tomorrow what you should have changed years ago. “So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God’s likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy” (Ephesians 4:22-24 GNT).
It’s a new day, and you have the possibility of living a new life. God can make these possibilities come true if only you would yield to His leading by His Spirit. The Lord has promised He can help us, but is waiting for us to let Him do it.
You can’t do what only God can do in you. God promised us that “I will give you a new heart—I will give you new and right desires—and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love. And I will put my Spirit within you so that you will obey my laws and do whatever I command” (Ezekiel 36:26-27 TLB).
Don’t let the regrets of yesterday keep you from what is possible today. The devil will tell you that you will always fail. The Lord will tell you that you will not fail if you surrender yourself to Him so that His Spirit can reign in you.
It’s one thing to have the Holy Spirit inside of you, but something quite different to be surrendered to Him so that He would reign in you. “The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them” (Romans 8:14 ERV).
It’s a new day and a new opportunity for you to do something different. If you keep saying you will change tomorrow, then you never will, for change must happen in the day you are in. Let today be that day. Let today be the day you finally give yourself to God.
Let today be the day that you let God change you. “Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect” (Romans 12:2 ERV).
Some of the greatest changes we need to make in our lives are not just to stop doing something wrong but to start doing those things God has called you to do. So long as you’re living outside His will for your life, you’re living below what He wants for you.
If you walk beneath your calling, then you won’t accomplish all He had for you. “That is why we always pray for you. We ask our God to make you worthy of the life he has called you to live. May he fulfill by his power all your desire for goodness and complete your work of faith” (2 Thessalonians 1:11 GNT).
It’s a new day, and it’s the Holy Spirit that can help you to do a new thing. Stop trying so hard to change yourself and simply let the Holy Spirit do it. Before the Holy Spirit has the right to rule in you, you must give up the right to yourself to Him.
It takes a greater strength to let something go than to pick something up. “Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the [Holy] Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy” (Ephesians 4:22-24 NLT).
People go nowhere for months and even years because they are relying on their own power. Their inner voice tells them they just cannot change when the truth is they are in rebellion against God and everything only He can do in them.
The more you rely on God, the better off you’ll be. “O Lord of hosts, how blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation]” (Psalm 84:12 AMP).
It’s a new day, and the question is, will you be made new in it? You most certainly can be changed by God, but are you sacrificing your life on His altar to be made into something new and wonderful? Until you sacrifice your life to Him, He can’t change you.
There’s a whole new life for you when once you’ve given it to God. “Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That’s the most sensible way to serve God. Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him” (Romans 12:1-2 CEV).
Sometimes God has to plop us down on that potter’s wheel and smash us into something new. Never despise the swing of His hammer that is breaking something off of you that was going to destroy you. Never forget this truth: God knows what He is doing.
The more pliable you are before God, the less He will have to break you. “And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do” (Jeremiah 18:4 ESV).
It’s a new day, and you can live a new way. Just because you failed yesterday doesn’t mean you have to fail today. Between you and God, He can do anything. The secret to God reigning in you is that you would let Him. Let Him reign in you today.
One day does not make a trend, but it can mark a new beginning. “Where you began will seem unimportant [Though your start was small], because your future will be so successful [your end will be exalted]” (Job 8:7 EXB).
Blessings to you always,
