For Such a Time as This

Throughout history, there have been many difficult challenges that have stood tall before God’s children. In every challenge, God has had those who place their trust in Him and become a light of hope to those around them.

Some 500 years before Christ was born, a young lady by the name of Esther found herself in a very dangerous circumstance. With great risk to her life, she was in a position to save the lives of the Jewish nation. To prepare her for this moment, her Uncle Mordecai told her this:

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 NKJV).

These same words ring true for you: “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Child of God, in every difficult circumstance we are going through, you have the opportunity to show to others the hope you have within you. Your family, friends, and others around you are watching how you respond to see if your faith will carry you. Let them see the hope of heaven that lies within you.

The darker the times, the more that others can see the light within you. “So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 TPT).

Sometimes God puts a problem before you so He can reveal His power through you. Jesus prophesied, “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name…they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 NASB).

The evil one will try to put a spirit of fear upon you. The devil wants to ruin your testimony by causing you to become as hopeless as the world is around you. We need to look fear in the face and let it know our God is yet sovereign and powerful and able to save us from anything that comes our way.

Have faith that God can save you through a thing and trust Him with whatever He does. The three boys about to be executed by the king said this to him: “If you throw us into the hot furnace, the God we serve can save us. And if he wants to, he can save us from your power.” (Daniel 3:17 ERV).

No matter how bad things look around you, just remember that He is with you. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me” (Psalm 23:4-5 NKJV).

Many will see the light of Christ because of the darkness in the world today. Be a light for Christ. Let your life be useful for the kingdom. Sacrifice your fear to gain souls for the kingdom. Let this be the time that God has ordained for you to make a difference in the lives around you.

Lord, help me to not fear how I might die more than how I might live. “…Jesus became a man like us. He died as we must die. Through His death He destroyed the power of the devil who has the power of death. Jesus did this to make us free from the fear of death. We no longer need to be chained to this fear.” (Hebrews 2:14-15 NLV).

Don’t worry as if God cannot help you. “Nothing is impossible for God!” (Luke 1:37 CEV).

The Corona Virus is not the first or the last virus we will contend with. New mutated diseases are being born all the time. There is fear for all that might happen. Yet Jesus conquered death, and by His stripes we can be healed. Jesus can yet heal us from any disease!

We can pray for any condition knowing Jesus can bring the cure. “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages…healing every sickness and every disease among the people” (Matthew 9:35 NKJV).

Jesus never asks us to do something we could never do. Jesus commanded, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8 NKJV).

For your family and your friends, never doubt that God can use you. It is not what you can do that He is looking for, but what He can do through you. God has a purpose and a plan for you. As Mordecai told Esther, “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Don’t fear disease, for our God is greater than all diseases. Pray for divine protection around everyone you know. If someone you know gets sick, all you have to do is pray for them. You don’t have to be a healer, but only pray the great Healer in our Lord Jesus Christ!

It is not enough to pray for healing, but you must believe. The Lord Jesus said, “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive” (Matthew 21:22 NKJV).

I don’t need to prove my prayers can bring healing, but only have faith that His power can. “If you have faith when you pray for sick people, they will get well. The Lord will heal them, and if they have sinned, he will forgive them.” (James 5:15 CEV).

Child of God, this is your time. This is your Esther moment. “…for such a time as this.”

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
