“All the angels are spirits who serve God and are sent to help those who will receive salvation” (Hebrews 1:14 ERV).
Do you know that God loves you? And do you know that God has heavenly armies of angels that are all at His command? You don’t know all the particulars of how God is protecting you, for surely there is much going on around you in the spiritual realm that you cannot see.
Don’t ever give up because you have no idea of all that the Lord is doing to help you. “Then Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes and let him see !’ The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire” (2 Kings 6:17 NLT).
Some of you may wonder if you do have a guardian angel. Why only one? God may have a legion of angels encamped all around you. God knows exactly what must be done to guard you, and you can be sure He will deploy whatever it takes so that His will in your life will be done.
We cannot fight spiritual battles on our own. In the weakness of our flesh, we can neither wage nor can we win the spiritual battles that stand before us. “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:7 NKJV).
We grossly underestimate the might and power that God is holding in His hands. We question if the Lord can spare an angel to help us while He has all the stars in heaven displaying His creative power. He has more for you than you can ever need.
If you trust God with your life, then trust Him with your problems. “See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you” (Exodus 23:20 NLT).
We think we are not important enough for God to send His angels to help us. He sent Jesus to die for each one of us, and our value to God is measured by the blood of His Son. You were bought with the same amount of Christ’s blood as everyone else who receives the gift of salvation.
When Jesus paid for your sins with His blood, it wasn’t a down payment but a payment in full. “You know that in the past you were living in a worthless way…But you were saved from that useless life. You were bought, but not with something that ruins like gold or silver. You were bought with the precious blood of the death of Christ, who was like a pure and perfect lamb.” (1 Peter 1:18-19 ICB).
You don’t have to see an angel to know that an angel is helping you. God will bring them to us, but we won’t know if they are angels. But can we trust that God will do what He says? If you have faith that God has His angels on earth, then believe that He can use them to help you.
Some of God’s miracles are such small things by the measure of man. Elijah was on the run and needed something to eat. “…suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, ‘Arise and eat.’ Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water” (1 Kings 19:5-6 NKJV).
Most of us have had experiences in our lives that we cannot explain. We may have faced certain death but came out of the fire with not a single mark. Stop attributing to chance what a sovereign God is doing in a world that He is holding together.
Don’t worry, as if God is not sovereign. “The Lord of [angelic armies] has sworn, saying, ‘Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand’” (Isaiah 14:24 NKJV).
I had an experience where I was following some friends in two cars late at night. We were on a two-lane road, and they were passing a slow-moving car. I was driving the last car in this caravan. They both passed and moved back into our lane. I was still trying to get past the slow car.
After both of my friends had moved back into the lane, right in front of me were the headlights of a car about to collide with me. Time stopped. I don’t know what happened, but the next thing I knew, I was in the right lane. Don’t tell me we don’t have guardian angels.
No matter what happens, God is always with you. “No evil will happen to you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:10-11 NASB).
I have had several moments like this in my life where the end was so near, and a new beginning was just around the corner. Don’t let the modern science of disbelief blind you to the glorious truth of God’s angelic armies just waiting to come to rescue you from your tribulation.
“Bless the Lord, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word! Bless the Lord, all you His angels, you who serve Him, doing His will” (Psalm 103:20-21 NASB).
Pray to the Lord to send you His angels. Ask Him to put His angels around you and to protect you from all the harm the world would bring. Treat every stranger with kindness, not knowing which one of them is actually an angel sent to help you.
Blessings to you always,
Paul Balius
