If You Really Trusted God

In whatever you are facing, trust that God will help you through it. “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You” (Psalm 9:9-10 NKJV).

What would your life look like if you really trusted God? Oh sure, you probably trust Him at least a little bit, and certainly some of the time. But what if you trust in Him completely and all of the time? If you’re honest, you’ll confess that your life would be radically different.

Your trial isn’t your biggest challenge; trusting God is. “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:8 NKJV).

If you really trusted God, then you wouldn’t be so anxious. You would know in the depths of your heart that God is always with you. You may not always sense His presence, but you will trust that He is always with you to help you and watch over you.

If you really trusted God, you wouldn’t worry so much. “But those who trust in the Lord will be blessed. They know that the Lord will do what he says. They will be strong like trees planted near a stream that send out roots to the water. They have nothing to fear when the days get hot. Their leaves are always green. They never worry, even in a year that has no rain. They always produce fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8 ERV).

If you really trusted God, you would be content with what you have. You wouldn’t be depressed about what is missing but be filled with gratitude for all that God has given you. With every little thing in your life, you would praise God for His provisions.

Only pray for daily bread and then trust Him with tomorrow. The Lord Jesus taught us to pray like this: “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11 KJV).

If you really trusted God, you would give Him your every problem. You wouldn’t try to do so much on your own without asking Him to help you. In everything you do, you would pray before you act, and you would pray before you respond, knowing that God will help you.

You can trust the Lord more than you can trust yourself. “Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ERV).

If you really trusted God, then your enemies would lose the power they hold over you. You will know that God goes before you, and you will know that He is greater than anything that can come against you. Your fear will melt away like ice beneath the blazing sun on a hot summer’s day.

The thing you fear the most is what you need to trust Him with the most. “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4 NLT).

If you really trusted God, then you would not fear what may happen in the future. Though troubles may lie ahead, the Lord you trust will help you through them. You will look the future in the face and tell him that he is no match for the Lord you trust in heaven.

You don’t have to fear the unknown because it is known to God. “The Lord is good. He protects those who trust him in times of trouble” (Nahum 1:7 CEV).

If you really trusted God, then you would quickly and confidently do anything He is calling you to accomplish. Whether it be to minister to one or to bring a word to many, you would trust that He will always give you what you need to accomplish any mission He asks you to do.

Do your part and trust that God will do His. “That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me” (Colossians 1:29 NLT).

If you really trusted God, you wouldn’t be so disillusioned by the ungodly nonsense going on in the world around you. You would confidently stand firm in your faith and your godly principles knowing that God is sovereign, and God is good. The world is no match for the Lord.

Don’t let your fear of the world become bigger than your trust in God. “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You” (Psalm 56:3 NASB).

If you really trusted God, then you wouldn’t be so impatient for His answer. God’s clock is better than our deadlines, for He knows the perfect time for everything. The more you trust Him, the more patient you will be waiting for Him to help you.

You wouldn’t learn to trust Him if He didn’t make you wait. “My rightness and justice are near, My salvation is going forth, and My arms shall rule the peoples; the islands shall wait for and expect Me, and on My arm shall they trust and wait with hope” (Isaiah 51:5 AMPC).

If you really trusted God, people around you will notice. There is something peculiar about a man or a woman who is living a life trusting God with every breath they take. You will be different from other people, and your life will inspire those who are around you.

It’s more important that you trust God with your problem than He solves it. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15 NKJV).

Trust God, and your life will be a blessing to many.

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
