The more you try to accomplish apart from prayer, the less you will accomplish. “…The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16 NLT).
In the age of modern electronics, where we have far more automation to help us, we have become less productive and more stressed as we are overwhelmed with so much to do. Our days are busier, yet the results are lacking, and we can barely keep our heads above water that we can breathe.
Don’t let distractions get in the way of your destiny. “For we are the product of His hand, [heaven’s poetry etched on lives,] created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago” (Ephesians 2:10 VOICE).
If you want to accomplish more, then you must change your strategy and learn to let God help you in what you are doing. The first thing you must do is to make sure you are only doing that which God would have you do. Get into His will, and you will be on the right track.
It’s not about accomplishing more, but being more, in the will of God. “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV).
We think that if we work harder, we will get more accomplished, but that thinking is limited to the power of what we can do. You serve a God who created the galaxies in a single word, so just ask Him to help you in all you’re doing.
Never go it alone with something only God can help you accomplish. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 NLT).
Learn to say no to the things that are not important. Our ability to say “no” to things opens up the way to accomplish more of what we say “yes” to. Often a sign that you’re trying to accomplish more than God would have you do is your inability to do it.
Eliminate the unnecessary, and you can accomplish the impossible. Get your priorities right, and you’ll accomplish what you need to. “We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better” (Colossians 1:9-10 NLT).
Lower your pride and ask for help from those around you. Stop thinking you are the best and the work cannot be done by anything less. Someday you will leave earth, and others will get things done; knowing that, simply ask them to help while you’re still here.
Social isolation is the Devil’s scheme to separate you from the herd. Stay connected. “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT).
Slow down and do things methodically and in order. Rushing often causes us to make mistakes that only make things take longer. God can lead you in ministry and in the secular, for He created them both. Let the Holy Spirit lead you in everything.
To accomplish much, do a little bit every day. “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us” (Psalm 90:17 ESV).
Stop stressing yourself out with imaginary deadlines. Be realistic in your planning but bold in your tapping into the supernatural from God. If the task is from God, then you can be sure He will help to make it happen. Do it on His timeline and not your own.
Don’t let imaginary deadlines prevent you from seeking the leading of the Lord. “The holy God of Israel, the Lord who saves you, says: ‘I am the Lord your God, the one who wants to teach you for your own good and direct you in the way you should go.’” (Isaiah 48:17 GNT).
Praying, resting, and patience are the supernatural forces that will help you to accomplish more. They stand upside down to the ways of the world, and that is exactly how the Lord operates. Never lean onto worldly principles and think heaven will help along the way.
You’ll accomplish more resting in the Lord than striving on your own. “Stop striving and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 NASB).
If you prayed as hard as you worked, you’d accomplish a thousand times more. “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him” (1 John 5:14-15 NASB).
If you are doing a work devoted to the Lord, then you must rely upon the Lord in how you are doing it. The worst place you can be on this earth is pressing into a ministry that does not have the backing of the Lord. Let Him be more important to you than the ministry you are in.
You can accomplish more in one day filled with the Holy Spirit than a lifetime full of yourself. “Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in faith. And many people were brought to the Lord” (Acts 11:24 NLT).
