Be Anxious for Nothing

You can either pray about it or worry about it. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6 NKJV).

We think that if we are saved and walking in God’s will that our lives should be easier. But this is not how God works as He uses difficult circumstances to shape His children. Sometimes it is when the world comes against us that we realize it is because heaven is behind us.

With God on your side, it’s the other side that needs to worry. “…If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us?” (Romans 8:31 TPT).

Don’t be anxious about things not going the way you think they should. God is sovereign and His plans cannot be thwarted. Often, He chooses the difficult paths we must walk through that we would learn to trust Him in the dark valleys before He would take us up on the mountain top.

Mountain tops inspire, but it is in the valleys below where a saint is shaped for the real work of God. Never imagine an easy Christian life, but never doubt that the Lord will always be with you. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV).

Don’t be afraid of everything that can go wrong, but trust that the Lord can make everything alright. He loves you unconditionally and longs for you to place your unwavering trust in Him. Consider the storm the test and your faith the foundation you should walk on.

Sometimes the storm is the blessing. “Now, this is what Yahweh says: ‘…Do not fear, for I, your Kinsman-Redeemer, will rescue you. I have called you by name, and you are mine. When you pass through the deep, stormy sea, you can count on me to be there with you…’” (Isaiah 43:1-2 TPT).

Don’t be anxious about those who come against you knowing the great God who stands behind you. Stop praying for God to protect you from them but pray that they would be protected from all that God might do to them. Trust that He has you.

When you are rightly related to God, you don’t need to worry about what people might do to you, but what He might then do to them. “Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do ‘…” (Luke 23:34 NKJV). The measure of your faith is your concern for those who are against you.

Don’t be anxious for the lack of things and trust that He can provide for you. Trust in His provisions but walk in your responsibilities. Don’t be afraid that you would lose everything, and instead, know that you will always have Him, and He will always have you.

There is no lack when you are praying from the resources of heaven. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV).

Don’t be anxious about a health issue knowing that Jesus has already paid the price for your eternal life. You don’t have to fear anything when you know you’re going to heaven. Live your life each day knowing the Father has already counted the days you will live. Treasure each day He has given you.

Don’t worry as much about how long you will live, but how much you will live. “For we are of God’s making, created in union with the Messiah Yeshua for a life of good actions already prepared by God for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10 CJB).

Don’t be anxious for what lies ahead because your Father is already there waiting for you. Seek the leading of the Holy Spirit and stay in the Word of God that your life would have Christ at the center. With Christ within and the Holy Spirit leading the way, there is nothing you need to fear ahead of you.

Don’t worry about what lies ahead; just keep your mind focused on the Lord who is with you. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV).

Don’t be anxious for not living a fairy tale life that God never intended for you to have to begin with. God’s best servants often suffer greatly, and God’s mightiest messengers usually travel difficult roads. Stop imagining the dream life the world is peddling and accept what the Lord knows is right for you.

In whatever you are battling, if you would turn to God then He will help you. “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 NASB).

Don’t be anxious about anything. Pray more than you worry. Look to Jesus and not to the storm. Trust in God and not in man, especially yourself. Believe in miracles and be satisfied with nothing. Let God be your portion, and you’ll be full forever.

The heaviest thing known to man is a single anxious thought. Set it down at the feet of Jesus. Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 CJB).

Child of God, your Father loves you and cares about you. There is nothing on this planet for you to be anxious about, only take it to Him in prayer and allow His peace to fill you. Trust in Him with your life and simply rest as He showers you with His love and His comfort.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 TLB).

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
