He Has You

In years past we have had generations forged by the circumstances they went through. It is said that the Great Generation came out of the Great Depression and World War II. It is not that the people were greater in those days, but only that what they went through made them who they were. This time we are in right now will be no different. Our young generations will be forged in the circumstances they are going through.

Never doubt what a powerful God can do in the hearts of the new generation to come. “Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done.” Psalm 22:30-31 NLT).

The miracles that will come in the days ahead will be the stories told for generations to come. “…In all your history, has anything like this happened before? Tell your children about it in the years to come, and let your children tell their children. Pass the story down from generation to generation.” (Joel 1:2-3 NLT).

The Church has struggled to reach the youth of today, but now God has allowed the circumstances by which they would turn to Him. We like to think we do not need a tragedy to get people to turn to God, but we do. The greater the tragedy, the greater the turning. I am believing for a revival like none other.

Trust God’s plans more than your feelings. “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:11 NKJV).

No matter how bad things look, don’t give up, because you have no idea what God is doing behind the scenes to help you. “And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17 NKJV).

The older generations are the ones who must set the example and lead the way for the generations who will follow. Never underestimate the impact of your influence on those around you. Let your life reflect the hope of heaven that others will see it. Even if you must carry the message of Christ to your own death, let the hospital be your last great mission field for God.

The life you live is the legacy you leave. “Tell older women to live their lives in a way that shows they are dedicated to God. Tell them not to be gossips or addicted to alcohol, but to be examples of virtue. In this way they will teach young women…” (Titus 2:3-4 GW).

Live a legacy worth dying for. “Tell older men to be sober. Tell them to be men of good character, to use good judgment, and to be well-grounded in faith, love, and endurance.” (Titus 2:2 GW).

The older generations need to lift the younger generations. The youth don’t need our criticisms, rather they need our encouragement. Christ never spoke down to the lost, but called out to them that they might find Him. Speak life into the youth that they would then reach for the eternal life found in Christ alone.

The message of your life echoes upon the hearts of the generations that will follow after you. “Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.” (Psalm 22:30 NLT).

There are generational implications in everything you do. The Apostle Paul saw this when he said, “when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also” (2 Timothy 1:5 NKJV).

The younger generations have before them a wilderness through which they must endure. The greater the testing the greater the result. This next generation has the potential to be the next great generation. They can either take hold of the promise before them, or risk handing it over to the generations that will follow. Encourage the youth, that they would take hold of what God has for them.

Be the Joshua in this generation. Joshua said, “my brothers who went with me frightened the people from entering the Promised Land. For my part, I wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God.” (Joshua 14:8 NKJV).

Never underestimate what God can do through the life of a young person. Consider that He chooses the young because they do not yet have the hardened mind sets of the old. “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12 NKJV).

Young or old, seasoned or just getting started – now is the time to take a stand for the Lord. Now is the day to be the light in a darkened world. Now is time for you to step into the calling that the Lord has upon your life. Be the man or woman that God has ordained for you to be. Surrender to Him that He would gain the victory in you. Let your life matter for the kingdom to the glory of God.

Do not worry what His plan for you is, only that you are in it. “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.” (Psalm 33:11 NKJV).

We are always limiting ourselves to what we can do. People say you are too young to do something or you are too old to do something. No, the problem is you are too weak in your faith to believe that God can do anything in you and through you. “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” (Isaiah 40:29 NLT).

Be the generation that loves the Lord. “…This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face…” (Psalm 24:5-7 NASB).
