Brokenhearted

Child of God, stop trying so hard to hold things together, and just fall helplessly into the hands of your heavenly Father. You don’t have to do this alone because God is there to help you. He is waiting with open arms for you to come to Him.

There are some wounds that only God can heal. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3 NKJV).

It is the message of man that teaches a self-help program to a floundering world unable to make it on its own. We are told to hold it all together and carry on, and yet there we are broken and weak, unable to climb out of the hole we have fallen into.

The self-help teaching of our day is the trickery of the devil meant to destroy you by your own hand. “In his self-sufficiency he will be in distress; every hand of misery will come against him” (Job 20:22 NKJV).

Child of God, the message from heaven is not to do it on your own, but to rely on God, who alone can help you to overcome anything. Not only can God help you, but He can strengthen you along the way and set you back up on your feet once again.

Don’t rely on yourself for what only God can do. “O Lord of hosts, how blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation]” (Psalm 84:12 AMP).

If you’re stressed beyond what you can handle, give it to God, for He can surely handle anything that is overwhelming you. Let go of what is stressing you out and step into all that God can do for you. He alone can bring you the relief you so desperately need.

If you’re stressing about all you have to do, then you’re not relying on God. “Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5 AMPC).

Child of God, there is nothing too hard for God. If you’re filled with anxiousness, He can help you to pour it all out and then get filled up with His peace, such that there will be no room for anxiousness to creep back in. Pray for that.

Anxious thoughts can only survive apart from God. “Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]” (1 Peter 5:7 AMP).

If you’re having health issues, then He can help you to either be healed from them or strengthened to carry you through them. He has you perfectly in His grip for all of eternity, so learn to trust Him with the situation you are in today.

The Lord has you for all of eternity, so why do you worry about a couple of days or a handful of years? He has you. “The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore” (Psalm 121:8 NKJV).

Child of God, your heavenly Father loves you beyond your comprehension. Your circumstances may be breaking you, but He can hold you together. You may feel like you are being crushed, but God is forming you into something new.

Brokenness is the path to being made into something new. “And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make” (Jeremiah 18:4 NKJV).

Perhaps you are feeling emotionally stretched to the point of being broken. Or maybe you have already had your heart broken and don’t see how it can ever be healed again. God can help you not only to fix your heart but also make it full like never before.

Hearts break, tears flow, and lives are forever shaken. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3 NKJV).

Child of God, once you let go and let God, the direction of your life will be forever changed. You will be set free from the anxiousness and bitterness in your soul and be placed securely in the presence of God and the peace that surrounds Him.

The closer to Christ, the calmer the soul. Jesus promised, “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” (John 14:27 AMP).

No matter what is falling apart in your life, God can help to hold you together. And once you let God help you, He will also begin to do a work through you to help the people around you. Others will see how much God has helped you and be encouraged.

Let your circumstances reflect your faith, and your life will bring hope to others. “…God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT).

Perhaps sin has a death grip on you, and you’re unable to break free. God can help you if you will ask Him and if you are willing to let Him help you. Jesus saved you from your sin and then sent the Holy Spirit to give you power over your sin.

God doesn’t tell us to do our best, but to let Him do His best in us and through us. Living by the Spirit’s Power: “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves” (Galatians 5:16 NLT).

Child of God, go to your heavenly Father and ask Him to help you. He specializes in helping the brokenhearted, because those are the ones who know how much they need Him. God is looking for someone just like you.

The reason God is near to the brokenhearted is that those are the ones who know they need Him. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time” (Psalm 34:18-19 NLT).

Blessings to you always,

Paul Balius

  1. Spot on brother Paul. I am in a season of refining. Going through the Fire , I know I am HIS daughter and I see this season as a must do for breakthrough. I am slowly learning to just letting it all loose with God. All of it. Thank you for the encouragement and reflections of HIS truth.

  2. Brokenhearted

If you are in your middle teens or older that very word most likely you have a memory or two to align with the pain of being used, abused, slandered, or betrayed. As soon as I came into the Kingdom I was used and betrayed. That time I did the right thing and gave my pain and betrayal to God. 16 years later I did the wrong thing and rehearsed the betrayal which included the assassination of my character and reputation. The result was 3 years of bitterness and self misery as I lived in the poison venom of my own making through unforgiveness. I being a man have not personally experienced the pain and tragedy of a sin against women I have witnessed time and again. This sin in many centuries old. A man who is inwardly of debase character becomes a prince charming in outward appearance to a usually young woman. She falling for the trap that has been set falls into it. At a minimum a broken heart, at a maximum an unwanted pregnancy added to the broken heart. My betrayals are so small and irrelevant compared to this. Yet Jesus is the mender, the only time proven mender of the broken heart. I have known of Cinderella stories that are birthed out of this deep betrayal, when the victim gives it all to God. If you identify with any of these scenarios give Him your pain As pointed out in this posting, the world does not have the ability, desire, nor love for you to truly heal. He indeed is still the healer of broken hearts. Isaiah 61:1 NASB95
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners.

    1. There are so many that need to be ministered to in the brokenness. May the Lord guide those who are ready to reach out to them and help them through all that they are going through.

  3. WOW!!! I am just so awed by the Spirit anointing this merciful, magnificent, munificent message of grace from and glory to our God is in transforming, transcendent, triumphing Truth. ALLELUIA to the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort!!! 2 Cor. 1:3 Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort!!!

    1. I think it is the one who has received comfort by the God of comfort who can best express all that God can do. May He take every bit of the pain we have endured and use it to help others in their trials.

      1. Yes. In the AMP is an interesting footnote at 2 Cor.1:7 for hope, which more than a little I like.

        2 Corinthians 1:4-7 Amplified Bible
4 who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For just as Christ’s sufferings are ours in abundance [as they overflow to His followers], so also our comfort [our reassurance, our encouragement, our consolation] is abundant through Christ [it is truly more than enough to endure what we must]. 6 But if we are troubled and distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted and encouraged, it is for your comfort, which works [in you] when you patiently endure the same sufferings which we [a]experience. 7 And our [b]hope for you [our confident expectation of good for you] is firmly grounded [assured and unshaken], since we know that just as you share as partners in our sufferings, so also you share as partners in our comfort.

        Footnotes
        a 2 Corinthians 1:6 Lit suffer.
b 2 Corinthians 1:7 In the NT the word “hope” expresses a cherished desire along with the confident assurance of obtaining that which is longed for.

        Romans 15:13 Amplified Bible
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.
