You Are Not alone

When you feel overwhelmed, it is often because you are trying to do things on your own. If you only rely on yourself, then you will always reach the end of what you on your own can accomplish. But when you turn your focus towards God and rely on His strength to help you, then you will never reach the end of what He can do.

Never go it alone with something only God can help you accomplish. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 NLT).

The reason so many of us feel so alone is because we do not spend enough time in His presence. We read the Word but often at a pace that it cannot penetrate us. We pray to the Lord but on a schedule that limits the time we spend with Him. Your separation from God is your decision.

How you spend your time reveals what you value most. Jesus taught, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21 NKJV).

Often we want to feel His presence before we will acknowledge His presence. But the process does not work in that manner. We must learn to acknowledge His presence at all times, and then from there we will start to feel it even stronger. The feeling does not change the truth but only reveals it.

It’s more important that you have the presence of God than you feel the presence of God. “God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us” (Acts 17:27 NIV).

We are so trapped in our natural thinking that we limit what we can see with our own two eyes. But the Spirit of God is rarely seen, and the visible presence of God is rarely in the natural. It will be as we become filled with the Holy Spirit within us that we will see all that He is doing around us.

The best way to change a situation is to ask God to change you. “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me” (Psalm 51:10-11 NLT).

There are many who are loners in the world. For many different reasons, they spend more time alone than with others. Because of this, they feel alone because they are alone. Yet God is always with them. It is the ones who are not distracted by people that can come to know God at the deepest levels.

You may be a loner, but you’re never alone. “I have commanded you, ‘Be strong and courageous! Don’t tremble or be terrified, because Yahweh your Elohim is with you wherever you go.’” (Joshua 1:9 NOG).

If you are a loner, consider somebody else is alone as well. That other person may be waiting for someone just like you that would understand them like no other. From wherever you stand, it will be from there that you can reach the ones around you. God never squanders our situation, but do we?

Faith is a journey we must never walk alone. “Two are better than one… For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV).

There are many people who have a large circle of friends and perhaps a large family too, yet who feel alone in the crowd as if nobody can understand them. It will be the appearance of belonging that will mask the reality of not fitting in. People may not understand you, but God does.

Only God can heal the wounds of your soul. “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul” (Psalm 94:19 NKJV).

The world celebrates popularity with people, but heaven celebrates our eyes on God. The world thinks others can fulfill us, but heaven knows only Christ can meet our deepest needs. The world will shun those on the outskirts, but heaven shines in the places far from the places made high by man.

What if your lack of popularity proves you’re in the center of God’s will? “For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts” (1 Thessalonians 2:4 NLT).

Whatever your situation is, seek to be in the presence of the Lord. Acknowledge God in everything you do and in everything you are going through. You will learn to pray constantly when you realize the Lord is always with you. You are not alone but always kept in the hands of a faithful Creator.

The best time to pray is now. “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV).

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
