Blessing of Another Day

You are a creation of God. He formed you in your mother’s womb. You were made in His image. You are meant to be His adopted child. He has known about you for all of eternity. He had a plan from ages past of when He was going to save you. Though you were once His enemy, there would be another day.

God loved you even when you were His enemy, and He still loves you even in your failures. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 NKJV).

When Adam sinned, the separation was made between the eternal heaven and the created earth. God loved His created people too much to let them live forever in their sin. He put away the tree of life and left us in the valley of darkness. But there would be another day.

No matter how bad things look around you, just remember that He is with you. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me” (Psalm 23:4-5 NKJV).

When Christ hung up on the cross, there was a connection into the ground and a reaching up into heaven. The ground represented His death and where He would soon be buried. He would be placed inside the created earth and separated from the eternal heaven. But there would be another day.

When Jesus hung on the Cross, people thought it was all over, but things were just getting started. “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18 NKJV).

The disciples were scattered, and their hopes shattered before them. They couldn’t understand all the prophetic words Christ had told them about His death and resurrection, and now thought everything was lost. But there would be another day.

The greatest love story ever told was Jesus Christ, crucified for you. “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6 NKJV).

On the third day, Christ was raised from the dead. He was set free from the confines of the created earth, and then He ascended into the eternal heaven. This first ascension was necessary that He would complete the reconciliation. Yet this first time He would not stay in heaven, but here would be another day.

“Jesus said to her, ‘Mary!’ She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her, ‘Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father’” (John 20:16-17 NKJV).

And then Jesus went to heaven to sprinkle His own blood on the mercy seat. “For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us” (Hebrews 9:24 NKJV).

Christ returned to earth and began His second earthly ministry. This time He returned in His glory and set out to complete the mission for which He came here. He ministered to His disciples and they came to know what the prophetic words meant that He had told them, that there would be another day.

“And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem’” (Luke 24:45-47 NKJV).

When you breathe your last, and your heart beats no longer, there will be another day. When you close your eyes for the last time on this earth, you will wake in heaven and see more clearly than you have ever seen before. You will know the truth in the promises of heaven, that there will be another day.

Jesus promised us, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:1-2 NKJV).

Church can’t save you, and your works only get in the way. Nobody else but you is able to give your life to Christ. If you would tell Him right now that He is your Lord, and then let Him be your Lord, there will never be another day quite like this.

The greatest love story did not end with Christ on the Cross; rather, it began with Christ on the Cross. Never underestimate the cost of your salvation. “…you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold… but with the precious blood of Christ…” (1 Peter 1:18-19).

When it comes to salvation, we have only this assurance: if we confess Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead, and we believe it, we will be saved. What we are not assured is that there will be another day besides today in which we can make that confession.

Turn to God today because tomorrow may never come. “Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation’” (2 Corinthians 6:2 AMP).

Don’t wait for a day that you may never get to. Don’t delay an eternal decision that is placed before you today. It won’t cost you a thing, but it cost Jesus His life. There is only one reason why Jesus did this for you; it is because He loved you. Love Him back that you will eternally have another day.

Don’t worry about the day you would go to heaven but the day in which you wouldn’t. “Yeshua [Jesus] said to her, ‘I AM the Resurrection and the Life! Whoever puts his trust in me will live, even if he dies; and everyone living and trusting in me will never die’” (John 11:25-26 CJB).

Blessings to you,

Paul

  2. Oh my Paul. Again such a meaningful sharing. I read this after coming home from hospital where I was having trouble breathing. I think this will be read at my funeral one day but I shared it on fb today with those I know. One can never share it too many times. I love it. It rings true with my heart. Thank you.
