Don’t Give Up

No matter how bad things look, don’t give up because you have no idea what God is doing behind the scenes to help you. “Then Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!’ The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire” (2 Kings 6:17 NLT).

Child of God, no matter what you’re going through, don’t give up. Even when it seems there is no way out, yet the Lord can make one. Even when it seems things are hopeless, with the Lord there is always hope, and there is nothing impossible for Him.

Don’t give up to anything but God. “Finally, receive your power from the Lord and from his mighty strength” (Ephesians 6:10 NOG).

We only need to look back upon our life, and we will surely see the Hand of the Lord and how He has helped us. If God could help us through something impossible before, then He can surely do that again. We must keep the faith and trust in the Lord and know He has us in every circumstance.

Don’t ever give up on God, because God will never give up on you. “The Lord himself will go ahead of you. He will be with you. He will never leave you. He’ll never desert you. So don’t be afraid. Don’t lose hope” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIRV).

You may think back on a time in which it seemed that God had forsaken you. Perhaps you feel that way now. Child of God, He will never leave you, and He will never forsake you. His love for you is eternal and unchanging, if only you would see it. Don’t look at the storm but the One who can save you.

Imagine being so loved by someone that they would die for you, and that is exactly what Jesus did for you. “The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you’” (Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV).

There are some periods in our life where He is silent, and it seems He won’t even listen to our prayers. We will pray with such compassion that we think surely it would move Him. Yet, it seems like even our tears go unnoticed, and we feel abandoned and alone.

When God is silent, He is teaching you to trust Him. “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:8 NKJV).

We must learn that our God hears our prayers, and He gathers our every tear. Though at times He may seem like a distant God, He is always near us and always for us. Just because it seems He is silent does not mean He is uncaring, as we know that the song of our hearts often cannot be heard by others.

We are meant to be near to the Lord, and prayer is the means in which we get there. “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him…” (Psalm 145:18 NKJV).

We need to take our every problem to God and never give up on the thing we are asking for. What great regret many will have when they get to heaven only to discover they were only one prayer away from receiving the answer on so many things they had been praying for.

We worry too much because we pray too little. “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up” (Luke 18:1 NIV).

No matter your problem – a health issue, a financial hardship, problems at work, a troubled relationship, a failed ministry, a ruined reputation, a loss of hope – child of God, just keep praying. Nothing is impossible for God, and that is the limit we should pray to. Let God lead you and help you.

Until God says “no” keep praying for a “yes.” Jesus taught us on persistent prayer in this parable, “I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything just because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence and boldness he will get up and give him whatever he needs” (Luke 11:8 AMP).

It is a most blessed thing when once you know that God is always with you. Nobody filled with the Spirit of God is left wondering about the presence of God. In however you are lacking in your life, just pray that the Lord would fill you. We are not meant to live apart from Him but to be filled of Him.

Nobody is filled by a fraction of the Holy Spirit but the fullness of God. “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. …be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:17-18 NKJV).

Determine this very minute to rebuke the Devil and bring your every problem before God. There is nothing that the Lord cannot help you with except that thing you refuse to bring before Him. Humble yourself, surrender your fears, and sacrifice your worries at the altar of our God, who is sovereign.

If God is sovereign, then why do you worry so much? “Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light” (Daniel 2:20-22 NLT).

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
