Being a Prayer Warrior

Being a prayer warrior is not a calling for a few, but a privilege and a duty for all. You do not need to be qualified to be one, but to only kneel humbly before a God through whom all things are possible.

If you want to be effective for the Kingdom, you need to learn that it is never by your abilities that you can do so. Rather it is by your simple faith, your humble reliance upon God and a love for God’s children.

We can accomplish more for the Kingdom by prayers than by programs, because programs rely upon man, whereas prayers tap into the resources of heaven.

The only thing you must do to become a prayer warrior, is to kneel down before your heavenly Father and start to pray.

I pray that you would become enlisted in God’s army as a prayer warrior, bringing heaven down to earth, one prayer at a time. Jesus taught us to pray to the Father, “…cause Your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven” (Matthew 6:10 TPT).

Here are some things I have written on this topic. I pray you would read through them slowly, and especially consider the Scriptures, and how they might apply to your own life:

Victory belongs to those who refuse to give up. “Pray constantly” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 RSV).

Prayer is our spirit breathing heaven.

Even when it seems you do not have a prayer, just pray. be patient in your troubles, and continue steadfastly in prayer” (Romans 12:12 CJB).

Prayer is the path between God’s heart and ours.

You cannot change another person, but you can pray to the Lord who can. “…if we ask anything according to His will He hears us” (1 John 5:14 ESV).

I used to see some people and wonder if God could ever reach them. Then the Holy Spirit revealed to me, “that is what some people used to say about you“. Never stop praying for the lost. God is in the business of doing the impossible.

Never give up in your prayers to God, knowing that He never gives up. “Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4:2 AMP).

The more you try to accomplish apart from prayer, the less you will accomplish. “…The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16 NLT).

It is when we pray from our heart that we can touch the heart of God.

It does not matter as much how long you pray as how genuine your prayer is. Jesus taught, “And when you pray, don’t babble on and on like the pagans, who think God will hear them better if they talk a lot” (Matthew 6:7 CJB).

You cannot have the victory in spiritual warfare unless you get in the fight.

To get close to God you must become further from man. Jesus prayed like this, “After sending the people away, He went up a mountain to pray by Himself. When evening came, He was there alone” (Matthew 14:23 NOG).

If a saint refuses to fight, by their forfeit the Devil wins.

Men of little prayer are spiritually little men. Jesus taught, “…that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1 NKJV).

The leaders in the Kingdom are those that have the ear of God.

Pray blessings on those who are against you. It is not meant to change them, but you. The Lord Jesus taught us, “bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:28 CJB).

Consider that as you pray for some people, that you are the only person on earth praying for them.

If you need a miracle, then just pray for one. Peter told the beggar who was lame from birth, “…I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” (Acts 3:6 ESV).

Sometimes we need to stop praying that the Lord would change His mind, but that He would change ours.

You cannot have the victory without the battle. Never set your goals based on the difficulties you may face, but the promises you will walk in. “Don’t be afraid of them, because Yahweh your Elohim Himself will fight for you…” (Deuteronomy 3:22 NOG).

Your greatest weapon in all your battles is having a child-like faith in God.

It is not what you bring to the battle that assures you victory, but Who goes before you. And the little boy David told the giant, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies…” (1 Samuel 17:45 NLT).

Live your life such that when circumstances would bring you to your knees, you are already there.

Blessings to you,

Paul

  1. This is a wonderful collection of thoughts and verses on being a faithful prayer warrior. I just shared it on twitter. I hope many people get a fresh reminder and prompting from the Lord to pray faithfully and persistently.
    Thank you so much

    1. Thank you so much Kate. The life of prayer is a life living near to God. It cannot be compared to anything else because nothing else can ever come close to our Lord being near to us.

  2. “Live your life such that when circumstances would bring you to your knees, you are already there.” I love it and that means we shouldn’t always wait for the circumstances to come we should always be in prayer

  3. “It is not what you bring to the battle that assures you victory, but Who goes before you.” Love this!
    Thanks for sharing this post.

    1. Thank you, it is such a grand thing in our life when we truly realize He is with us and He goes before us and we do not have to worry about a single thing.
