The Omnipotence of God

The word omnipotence means all-powerful. God is omnipotent. God is all-powerful. God can do all things.  God lacks nothing to accomplish His plan for this earth and every man, woman, and child that walks upon it.

There is no limit to the power of God, but only in our ability to believe. “Jesus said to him, ‘“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes’” (Mark 9:23).

Faith believes that God can do anything even when He doesn’t. “But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible’” (Mark 10:27).

When we begin to grasp the truth of His omnipotence better, there is nothing we will not pray for. When we realize His omnipotence, we stop fearing all that goes on around us. There is nothing in this world more powerful than our God.

We must remember that when we pray to God, there is nothing we ask for that He cannot do. Jesus prayed, “…Abba, Father, all things are possible for You…” (Mark 14:36).

In whatever weighs you down, remember Who you are praying to. “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17).

People are fragile, and our world is no different. The proof of that is when you look around and see how quickly the world can be turned upside down by a small little virus. Child of God, our God is greater than this Corona Virus.

All of your problems are smaller than God. “Then Job answered the Lord and said, ‘I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.’” (Job 42:1-2 NASB).

Pray to His limits, not yours. “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27).

Sometimes I will allow the worries of this world to overwhelm my thinking. Fear will creep in, my hope will diminish, and then my faith falls flat on the ground beneath me. This virus has more power in our fears than in our bodies. When we feel powerless, we need to tap into the power in the Word.

There is so much power in the Word if we would only take hold of it! “For the word of God is alive and powerful.” (Hebrews 4:12 NLT).

Things may have changed on earth, but God’s Word stands forever. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8).

Child of God, our God is more powerful than any disease. God is greater than any financial difficulty. Pray to our omnipotent God knowing He can do anything. Pray believing. Pray expecting. Pray with the assurance of heaven behind you and your omnipotent God who goes before you.

Stop telling God what He cannot do, and He just might do it. “And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not’” (Numbers 11:23).

Impossible situations demand our God through whom everything is possible. Jesus taught us, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27).

We are weak, but He is strong. We are powerless, but He has all power. We are fragile, but He is the Rock. The more we focus on His power, the less we will be consumed by our weakness. Sometimes God has to bring you to your knees so that you would turn to Him.

The Lord’s power is greater in your weakness. The Lord said, “…Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power…” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ERV).

God is the power of prayer. “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up…” (James 5:15).

My heart breaks for how much suffering there is in the world right now. Thousands are dying, and millions are without jobs. Fear is rampant, and despair is growing. But I know that God is going to do something great through this.

The Devil brings disease to destroy, but God has other plans. “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20).

Pray with me that many souls will be added to the ranks of heaven in the midst of this suffering. Pray that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We will someday look back and realize all that He was doing.

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
