Sovereignty means to have supreme and absolute power and control. For God, it acknowledges that He has power over everything and everyone. The sovereignty of God means that nothing happens except what He does or what He allows.
Nothing happens by chance or by accident with a sovereign God. “For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory.” (Romans 11:36 NLT).
God is sovereign over everything. We welcome this truth in the good times and struggle with it in the bad. Thank Him when you see the good, and trust Him even when you don’t. It is only when your faith is tested that your faith will grow.
Never give up. No matter how bad things get, yet the Lord remains sovereign. “The Lord Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies, makes this solemn decree: ‘Be sure of this: Just as I have planned, so it will be. Every purpose of my heart will surely come to pass.’” (Isaiah 14:24 TPT).
Some years ago, I remember getting a text about some great difficulty. I remember texting back this message, “I checked this morning, and the Lord is still sovereign.” Child of God, don’t worry, pray.
The more you trust in the sovereignty of God, the less you will worry about the foolishness of man. “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 56:11).
Don’t worry as if God is not sovereign. “But He is unique and unchangeable, and who can turn Him? And what His soul desires, that He does.” (Job 23:13 AMP).
I used to preach in a small chapel located inside a high-security prison. I will never forget one Sunday, and I was preaching on something, of which I do not now remember the topic. But what I do remember was the lesson the Lord taught me as I was preaching.
It was an especially hot day, and we had only fans to blow the hot air around the chapel. All the windows were open and this was the invitation to any bug that might wish to come in. As I was preaching and making a point, a fly flew directly into my mouth!
Never doubt that a divine Lord arranges divine appointments. Nothing ever happens by chance. Everything has a meaning and all things have a purpose. “…Before we were even born, he [Jesus] gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart.” (Ephesians 1:11 TPT).
Lord, nothing can touch me without Your permission. You look back onto my future knowing where I am right now. David spoke this while hiding in a cave, his life in great danger: “…You knew my path…” (Psalm 142:3).
I love how God chooses to keep His servants humble before others. I quickly spit out the unwelcome visitor, and everyone there was quite amused at the whole scene that unraveled before them! It was at this moment when the Spirit of God filled me and I preached a message on the sovereignty of God. It takes the Spirit of God to explain the vastness and the intricate details of God’s power.
There is no such thing as chance in the vocabulary of a sovereign God. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11).
Make no mistake about it, God is sovereign over every living creature and every movement of the wind. I remember telling the men that day, that if me getting a fly in my mouth opened the heart of a man to receive Christ, it would surely have been worth it. When we begin to grasp the incredible details of which God is sovereign over, we will fall down before Him in holy reverence and awe-struck adoration.
Peace comes not from the security of what we have, but in knowing our Lord is sovereign over all we need. The Lord Jesus said, “And do not…have an anxious mind…your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you” (Luke 12:29-31).
Nothing happens by chance. There is no such thing as good luck, only His good plan. Not only does He know your story, He wrote it. “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalm 139:16 ESV).
Child of God, in whatever troubles you, in however you are suffering, in whoever is coming against you, know that God is sovereign over everything. You don’t have to worry or be afraid, but only rest in the power and the majesty of the Lord and all that He can do. “You will neither have to leave in haste, nor will you make a frantic escape, for your God, Yahweh, will go before you. He will lead you each step and be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 52:12 TPT).

What about having faith such as believing for something as in Mark 11: 24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Doesn’t He need our faith. For example, I’m believing for my daughter’s salvation and I start thanking Him that I will see that manifest; that those things I speak I can have.

God is sovereign and He can make something good out of the storms in my life,The deepest part of my wounds have been my launching path in my persuit of my calling. It has taught me that when you trust in God and believe in what he says and that the process of faith grows as you mature spiritually, By reading the word and allow the roots of faith to be planted in your heart. Don’t limit God. Feed on the word and even when my flesh feels depress, I must renew the word and focus on the word of God that feeds me, until I overflow.
I have found that it is in our calling where we are tested the most. I was so surprised by the amount of opposition and the level of flesh that came against me in ministry by others in ministry. God tests His warriors, so I am praying you will grow from any tests He has you in and be used for the kingdom in mighty ways. Blessings to you.
