Never Give Up

We all have our own unique suffering that we carry in this life. We have burdens and trials that can mount up and seemingly crush us. We can reach the end of ourselves and not know how we can carry on. I have been to the edge, and I know what it feels like to be there. I want you to know there is a way back.

Beloved child of God, it is my greatest prayer that if you are at the end of yourself, that you will realize the great love that our Father in heaven has for you. No matter what you are going through, no matter how hard things get, never give up, our heavenly Father will always be there with you.

In whatever you are going through, He has you. “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Your life matters because God says so. “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand…” (Psalm 139:17-18).

Never give up on Him because He will never give up on you. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10)

All of your problems are smaller than God. “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17).

Oh, precious child of God, my heart longs that you would know that He has you. His love for you is greater than anything you are going through right now. That if you would give your every problem to Him, He will help you to get through all things and show you His great compassion that He has for you. Fall into His arms, and you will find that He will always catch you.

Sometimes you have to reach the end of your rope before you finally let go and fall into the arms of the Father. “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…” (Deuteronomy 33:27).

Never give up in your prayers, knowing He will never give up on you. “You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah” (Psalm 32:7).

Impossible situations demand our God through whom everything is possible. Jesus taught us, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27).

Don’t worry about what lies ahead for the Lord your God is already there. “You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head” (Psalm 139:5 NLT).

What I have come to learn is that God uses the hard times to do the greatest work in us. And as we come to learn what He has accomplished in us from the trials of our past, it will encourage us through the trials that we find ourselves in today. He is with us in the dark places. He is near us in the night. He loves us always and forever, and of that we can be certain.

We need words of compassion to comfort us, but we must also realize His plans to shape us in the hard times that we can endure through all that lies before us. Our Father never squanders our suffering, but through the Refiner’s fire is creating something pure and holy in us for the kingdom. God knows what He is doing, even when we don’t understand Him.

We learn to trust God the most where we understand Him the least. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Often the things that are tearing you apart are what God is using to build you up. “…we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4).

Pray your suffering accomplishes His will for your life. “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you” (1 Peter 5:10).

Don’t be bitter about the trial that God is using to shape you. “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” (James 1:2-3).

Friend, I pray that you would never give up. No matter what you are going through, trust in the Lord with all you got, and know that He will never fail you. God cannot fail.

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him…” (Job 13:15).

Blessings to you,

Paul Balius
