Authentic Faith

When you stand before Christ it will not matter how much you were able to impress men. youdonotWe often get so consumed by our appearance before men that we fail miserably in our walk with God. It is better to be an honest sinner than a lying saint. You do not have to impress God, only yield to Him.

Abraham was a liar. Jacob was a cheater. Moses was a murderer. David was an adulterer. You are no better than any one of them. Don’t you get it? Jesus did not come to rescue saints, but sinners.

God sees right through you, so you may as well accept that you can hide nothing from Him. The believer that God can change is the one who comes to Him. You can come to God just as you are because He is a merciful God and He loves you.

When I fail God, I just tell Him of my failures. God forgives the confessor. Then I remind Him of His promises to put a new heart in me and to put His Spirit in me, that I could be obedient to Him. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit inside you; …I will put my Spirit inside you and cause you to live by my laws, respect my rulings and obey them.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27 CJB).

So long as you try to be holy on your own, it only proves your prideful arrogance to get the glory of what you can accomplish on your own. Repent of your self-righteousness. Fall to your knees, admit you can do nothing of yourself, plead for God to help you, and when He does, give Him all the glory He alone deserves.

I am convinced that the secret to living the higher life is in being authentic in everything you do. Only authentic trees can grow to where they can produce authentic fruit. Plastic trees look good but produce nothing.

Christian, be authentic with your faith.

The mask you wear is the man you’re not.

Stop trying to appear to be what you are not, and let the Lord transform you into who you were meant to be.

You can fool man, but you will never fool Christ. Jesus rebuked the religious fakes of His day, “Outwardly you masquerade as righteous people, but inside your hearts you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness” (Matthew 23:28 TPT).

Stop wasting the energy to pretend and just let Christ change you.

Your position in the church on earth depends on what men think of you. Your position in the church of heaven will be based on what Jesus knows about you. The Lord Jesus said, “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God…” (Revelation 3:12).

It used to irritate me how God’s Word always says for me to change. I used to think “what about the other guy with all his issues?”. Then the Holy Spirit revealed to me, I am “the other guy”.

theonlythingThe only thing that can come between you and God is whatever you put there. “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3).

Your greatest obstacle to God is always by your own desire and your own design. Blame who you will, but until you be real with Him, the obstacle will remain.

The reason so few are changed by messages of transformation is that most believe the message is speaking about somebody else. Until you see that the problem is you, nothing changes. “All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the Lord weighs the motives” (Proverbs 16:2 NASB).

It’s not what you say, but what you do. It’s not the faith you claim, but the faith you live. It’s not the mask you wear, but the man you are.

You have to discern the darkness to see the light. The first step is to open your eyes. The first enemy to defeat is yourself. The strongholds to overcome are the thoughts and intents of your heart. “The heart is deceitful above all things and it is extremely sick; who can understand it fully and know its secret motives?” (Jeremiah 17:9 AMP).

Your greatest message to others that Christ changes lives is living a life that proves it.yourgreatestmessage

Stop thinking you need to change the world. You need to change your life, then it will be through that life that the Lord will change the world through you.

The best prayer you can offer to the Lord is the one already written on your heart. The Lord is not auditioning actors but seeking those who trust Him enough to share their heart with Him. The Lord Jesus said, “…true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth…” (John 4:23 AMP).

Keep it real, and He will change your reality.

thereisnobodyThere is nobody that the Lord Jesus cannot change, but the man or woman who refuses. Jesus said, “And as for all those who do not welcome you, when you leave that city, shake the dust off your feet [breaking all ties with them] as a testimony against them [that they rejected My message]” (Luke 9:5 AMP).

The reason change is so hard is because you really don’t want to. The problem is not in the effort, but the will. You don’t even believe the lies you tell yourself.

Don’t seek what you want, but what you need. Don’t seek comfort but change.

You are either walking with Him or away from Him. There is no middle ground in our walk with God. And God said, “…walk contrary to Me, then I also will walk contrary to you…” (Leviticus 26:27-28 NKJV). He doesn’t change directions, you do. So return to Him today. God is telling you, “Return to Me…and I will return to you…'” (Zechariah 1:3 NKJV).

Blessings to you,

Paul
