Baptized with Fire

I have been in a season of an intense pressing in for the deeper things. I have been pressing in more because I want more. Do you want more?

A few days ago, I was in prayer asking for a word, and I got a word that is the title for this blog. Right away I started to record and below is an excerpt of the Holy Spirit download that I received.

I have added some verses, but the rest is a portion of what I recorded almost verbatim:

Fire is consuming. Fire is changing. Fire is moving. Fire is light. Fire is purifying.

John the Baptist taught, “I indeed baptize you with water… [but Jesus] will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Matthew 3:11).

Step into it. You can have a greater faith. You can have a higher faith.

Don’t listen to the enemy. He will tell you that you can’t do it. He will remind you of who you were. He will tell you that you will never get there.

The Lord Jesus would have never commanded it if you couldn’t do it.

Jesus made this bold statement, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

You can’t do it on your own, but the Holy Spirit can do it in you. But you have to let Him do it in you or else it won’t happen.

Jesus went on to tell us we are not on our own with this, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper [the Holy Spirit], that He may abide with you forever” (John 14:16).

You can talk about it and you can go through the programs of man all you want, but you can’t change you.

You can’t do surgery on your inside because you would die trying. It won’t work, you will never get there.

Just lay yourself up on that altar and say, “Lord you do that work in me”. Say, “I surrender to you Holy Spirit”, and you mean it, and you just keep doing it.

And if you fall, you just get back up. You fall down seven times, you get back up seven times.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

And you keep dropping yourself on that Potter’s wheel asking God to do the work on you. Plead with Him. Pray for it. Press into it. Be fervent. Go after it. You can have it.

People who have gotten to the higher faith is not because they are special but because God is special, and they realize that.

If you look at the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-10 you will find they are the ladder of faith. The very first step in the ladder is: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3).

The very first thing that must happen to grow in your faith is you must be poor in spirit. That means you are impoverished. You are nothing. You got nothing.

All you can do is fall down at the foot of the Cross and plead for the Blood of Jesus to cover you. That you might be something and the only something that you will ever be is Christ in you.

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you…” (Colossians 1:27).

You must humiliate yourself to realizing that only in Christ and in Christ alone are you anything. He is your everything. You are nothing. Fall down before Him and let Him do the work in you.

You need to get over yourself. You need to stop looking for organized religion to organize God into you. What you need is between you and God. What you need is the Holy Spirit in you to change you. Until you do that, until you get the Holy Spirit in you to change you, you’re not going to change.

Jesus said, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8).

You can go to a hundred programs of men and all they’ll do for you is what man can do for you. And what man can do for you is never enough. What you need is what God can do for you.

What you need is what the Holy Spirit can do inside you because what you need is spiritual surgery to come in and fix your inner man.

Stop thinking your going to wake up someday and all of a sudden be strong enough. You’re never going to be strong enough. You weren’t strong enough yesterday or the day before or the week before. What makes you think anything’s going to change?

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty” (1 Corinthians 1:27).

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting you’re going to get a different result. How many programs are you going to go to until you figure out the only way that God is going to do a great work in you is when you let Him.

Stop thinking you got to be smart to be strong. Jesus didn’t go out and find the smartest guys to be filled with the Holy Spirit. He went out and found the willing guys. He knew they would be willing to be filled of the Holy Spirit because they knew that they didn’t have it in them to be what He was calling them up to be. And you don’t have it either.

What will it take to get this past that thick skull of yours? You need to just fall down before Him. You need to pray like the Disciples for ten days until you have your Pentecostal experience and the Holy Spirit comes upon you.

“These all continued with one accord in prayer… And suddenly there came a sound from heaven… And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” (Acts 1:14, 2:2,4)

There’s a whole lot of people that have their starched shirts and polished shoes, but they don’t have a lick of the Holy Spirit in them. All they got is the polished utensils of men on the outside, and what we need is the flaming fire of the Holy Spirit on the inside.

People think we can organize for what could happen and collect enough money to make it happen. The Disciples just went into that room and prayed for ten days until the Holy Spirit came upon them and then just let Him tear things up.

The problem we have today is people won’t even gather to pray for ten minutes, let alone ten days.

We need saints that are willing to just go into a room and pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon them, that something would actually change. What are you waiting for?

Every fire starts with a spark. Let just one little spark ignite the fire in your life. Then the Holy Spirit will come alive in you.

Why not you? Why not today? Why not right now?

Devote yourself. Dedicate yourself. Be determined in your will, your heart and your mind – and then watch what the Holy Spirit will do with that!

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8).

And that was the end of the download. I pray it would be a blessing to you. My prayer is to see people live a life filled with the power of the Holy Spirit pouring out right through them!

Blessings to you,

Paul
