We think that an effective prayer is one in which God immediately gives us what we ask for. But this is a measurement on the scales of man and not from the courts of heaven.
We imagine that if we pray better we will get better answers. But we are wrong, in that God always has the best answers regardless of how poorly we might pray.
An effective prayer has nothing to do with how God might answer, and everything to do with how much the saint pours out their heart and entrusts everything to their loving heavenly Father.
An effective prayer is one in which the saint simply makes their requests known to God and trusts that God will answer every prayer in the right way, at the right time and for the right reasons.
Stop trying to impress God with how talented you are in your praying, and simply fall down at His feet and let Him know how you really feel. Be sure you can never fool the Lord, so don’t try.
Your intimacy with God is proven in how open you are with Him in your private moments.
In your prayers, don’t try to lower the Lord into your plans, but ask Him to raise you into His.
An effective prayer never depends upon you. “Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we present any request agreeable to his will, he will hear us.” (1 John 5:14 TPT).
The secret to an effective prayer is never in the answer, but in your faith as you are asking.
You learn about God in the classroom, but you come to know Him in the prayer closet.
To be in the will of God you must be in prayer with God. “pray without ceasing… for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 NKJV).
Effective prayers are not where your desires are met by God, but where you pray into what God’s desires are.
Pray as big as God is. “Yeshua said, ‘The things that are impossible for people to do are possible for God to do’” (Luke 18:27 NOG).
An effective prayer is spoken believing that God can do anything.
It is to our detriment that we do not think of prayer as a conversation but an exhortation. “Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:12 AMP).
The best prayer you can offer to the Lord is the one already written on your heart. The Lord is not auditioning actors but seeking those who trust Him enough to share their heart with Him.
Prayer is the path between God’s heart and yours. Jesus taught, “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you” (Matthew 6:6 NLT).
It is when we pray from our heart that we can touch the heart of God.
There would be more prayers answered if there were more prayers given. Jesus taught, “…that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1 NKJV).

Thank you Robert. I think there is so much in pressing past the obstacle of our intellectualism with God and reaching His heart with our own. That this love has not study requirements to grow, not that we don’t learn so we can discern, but that we put down our books and simply fall in love with our God who is love.
