The Holy Spirit of Truth

To find truth, we must be led by the Holy Spirit of truth. Jesus promised, “…when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13).

To worship in spirit and truth, you must be filled with the Spirit of Truth. “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him” (John 4:23).

Father God, show us what it means to worship in spirit and truth. Christ centered, and Holy Spirit led. Faith in motion. Holy Scripture living within. Where we are the same in church or in the world. When we simply believe like a child. When we say that we live for You, and the way we live proves it.

The Holy Spirit is not a temporary pledge, but an eternal promise. Jesus gave this promise, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth… you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17).

If you want to know the truth of who Jesus really is, it will be by the testimony of the Holy Spirit of truth. Jesus taught us, “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me” (John 15:26).

It is not enough that you would only learn the truth, you must live the truth.

If you want more truth, live more truth.

You cannot live a lie and walk in truth.

The way to debate a truth and never lose is to simply live it out.

Don’t only seek deeper knowledge and not live out simple truths. Jesus will not judge you on what you know, but what you do. The Lord will forgive your sin, but only reward your righteousness. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

If you spent as much energy being as you do pretending, your faith might actually grow.

Stop trying to learn more and live more. One truth lived preaches more than a thousand truths spoken. If we claim to have fellowship with Him while we are walking in the darkness, we are lying and not living out the truth” (1 John 1:6 CJB).

Stop trying and start abiding.

To learn a new truth requires letting go of the lie. It is often the lies we hold onto the tightest that prevent us from the truth we so desperately need.

It’s not what you know, but what you do. It’s not what you have, but what you pursue. Live His holy word. Seek His holy ways. Let your life be truth in motion. Be the Church alive. Preach the word by the way you live. The Lord Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

The best message is seen, not heard.

Freedom is not doing what you want, but a release from the bondage of what you no longer want. Only a lie keeps you in bondage, the truth will always set you free. The Lord Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

It is the Holy Spirit of truth that sets men free from the bondage they are in.

We seek to know faster than we seek truth. That is why we know so many false things. Seek to know more truth, not merely to know more.

You cannot go mining for spiritual truth using the tools of your natural mind. Intellectualism is the obstacle to spiritual understanding. The wisdom of man is foolishness to God, and the wisdom of God is foolishness to man. “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).

My prayer is that you would be led by the Holy Spirit of truth that you would know the truth and be set free. “…when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13).

Blessings to you,

Paul

  3. “Let your life be truth in motion.” – Yes! If we don’t walk in truth our whole life, our testimony, is a lie. There is no gray. Black or white. Truth or lie. Decide daily. Minute by minute.

    1. Absolutely, I think it is better to be an honest sinner than a lying saint, such that we do not disgrace the kingdom walking a lie, but with everyone seeing right through it.

  4. Thank-you, Paul. This is so challenging and encouraging at the same time; “Live His holy Word. Seek His holy ways. Let your life be truth in motion. Be the church alive.” This reminds me that I need to be hearing Holy Spirit convict when I am not walking my talk and forgetting to bring glory to His name.

    1. Thank you Susana. It is a challenging word i know, oh too well, as when i write these things the Lord holds me to such a degree that it can hurt. Yet i know it is Christ in me, His life reigning in my own yielded life, that I can do this, and that you can do this. Praying for your victory!

  5. I have several books about the Holy Spirit and would like to say that your contribution is much clearer. I know I am being pulled to your blogs all times and a big pleasure too.

    1. Thank you so so much Lynda! This was such an encouraging word for me! I am just so completely humbled that God reached down to use me. And I am convinced He will use any one of us foolish enough to let Him.
