The divine life is not you caught up to heaven, but heaven come down into you. It is not a fairy tale life of everything going right in the world, but a life filled with what is right from heaven.
It is not by your abilities that you can live a divine life, but by your willingness to surrender. The less your life is filled by the natural, the more of the divine can be poured into it.
The secret of living a divine life is having an unbroken fellowship with the divine Lord. “…Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Yeshua the Messiah” (1 John 1:3 CJB).
Your degrees, titles, prestige and knowledge mean nothing compared to whether or not you simply love the Lord. To the degree you try to impress man, the Lord cannot do a work in you. It is not you being more for Christ, but Christ being more in you.
The greatest hindrance in your life with God is your efforts to do things on your own strength.
The power of man only gets in the way of living out the divine live. You need divine power to live a divine life. “…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness… by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature…” (2 Peter 1:3-4).
The proof of the life of Christ in you is His divine nature spilling out from you. If you are lacking, it is not by His limits, but your lack of yielding. When you give your all to Him, He gives His all to you.
If you want to walk a higher faith, you must let go of the lower things.
You think it would be in your natural abilities that God could use you the most. But it is in those natural abilities that get in the way of God doing a supernatural work through you. He does not need your help in the realm of the divine.
It is the pride of man that says he must do the work. That is why the Lord cannot do a work through a proud man. Pray, “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know…” (Ephesians 1:17-18).
To gain worldly wisdom requires much effort. To gain heavenly wisdom requires much submission. Knowledge of the world is attained. Knowledge of the Lord is received.
The secret to living the divine life is that you do not attain anything by your efforts, but merely receive all things you need in humility from our Lord Jesus Christ. The greater the humility, the greater the receiving.
Many believers struggle to grow in their faith. They think to grow in faith is by their own power. They try, they fail and then they give up thinking it is not possible. But it is possible. Not in ourselves, but in Christ alone.
The divine life is nothing less than the divine nature of Christ reigning in you. “And this is the secret: Christ lives in you” (Colossians 1:27 NLT).
Stop living like it is you and Christ, but that it is Christ in you.
The divine life is not you taking hold of Jesus, but Jesus taking hold of you.
The divine benefits grow as you seek the Lord’s counsel in the smallest details of your life. Nothing is too small for the Lord because everything matters to Him. Once you get this, your prayers will never stop.
Prayer is your time with God, that divine place whereby we sit in His presence. So long as you remain in prayer, you remain in His divine presence. The Apostle Paul knew this when he wrote, “pray constantly” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 RSV).
Your greatest barrier to the divine life is your wrong desires for it. When your desire is self-serving, at the foundation your earthly motives counteract the heavenly life.
The deep things of God are never found in the shallowness of man. “Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising” (Acts 17:29).
If you want to operate along the lines of heaven, you cannot be bound by the ways of man.
