Living the God Dream

In 2001 the Lord gave me a dream that I would serve Him by writing. I was so excited to do this as I love to write, and I love the Lord. But I felt a restraint, that it was not yet time. For the next 14 years I served in the prison ministry. I had to live it before I could write it. Never rush the God who has perfect timing.

Then the Lord gave me a word, a whisper into my heart, “You were meant for something more”. I knew right away what He meant. Not that I was meant for something more, but that this is what I was supposed to write about. It was time.

In 2015, after 14 years in prison ministry, the Lord called me out and I began to write. My first blog was entitled “You were meant for something more”. Friends, you can live the God dream, His plans for you.

If the Lord is leading you to do something, then do it. To write a book, start with a sentence. To write a sentence, begin with a thought. To gain the thought, be inspired by the Holy Spirit.

It is the Lord that will inspire, that we would accomplish all He would desire for us to do.

Start small that something will come from it. The largest trees begin with a seed. The smallest of plants can still produce fruit.

You will not have heavenly visions with your eyes fixed on earth. The Apostle Paul said, “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision” (Acts 26:19).

Do not let your natural view block the heavenly vision. Do not squander the power of God by praying to the limits of man.

We ask to the degree we believe, so believe to the degree of a God that can do anything. Jesus taught, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).

It is only by the limits of man that the Word of God can be watered down to the limits of man. Be that crazy Christian that actually believes the Word of God is true.

If God has given you a dream, then He will make a way. “Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city'” (Acts 18:9-10).

Without vision there is no plan. Without plans there is no purpose. Without purpose there is no meaning. You were meant for something more.

We do not try, fearing we may fail. But to not try only guarantees failure. Nobody crosses a finish line that doesn’t start the race. So, start.

Let the journey of your vision begin today, with but a single step. He will lead you, just follow Him.

Never let go of your dreams. “For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction” (Job 33:14-16).

Stop chasing titles and live your title. Stop imagining what you might be and just be what He has meant for you to be all along.

If God has given you a dream, why would you ever think He would not help you to reach it?

Stop looking at the steep mountain you must climb, and just follow the Lord who goes before you. “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8). Trust Him in everything.

Dreams by definition do not sprout from the natural. Dreams that begin in the spiritual need to break into the natural that the impossible becomes possible.

Praying that you would follow His dreams for you.

Blessings to you,

Paul

  1. This message is coming exactly at the right time for me. God gave me a dream 4 years ago, to have my own business and be able to use it as a way to bless others. It did come to fruition, and I was able to bless others. Now, I am at a place in my life that I feel God has something so much bigger and better, something that will bring Him so much glory. However, in the natural, it doesn’t look that way at all. I have been going through a test of faith, faith that I know I heard Him calling me out farther to meet Him. I am holding on firmly in belief and know that His thoughts and timing are so much better than mine. 🙌

    1. That is so wonderful! And that is just like our God, he does not work around the timing of man, that instant message speed that we may like, but on His timing. Keep seeking Him in this season, that is where we can find Him, and discover His will, His timing, His methods. I am always so blessed to discover the dreams that God gives to others. I look forward to hearing more about God’s plans for you and how He will wonderfully unfold it for you!
