He Has You

When faced with the greatest battle to ever be waged, God sent a baby boy.

It was not in the splendor of man that God chose to display His glory, but from the lowliest place. “And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7).

Never think God’s plans will impress the world, but know that they will always change the world.

God chose the lowliest of places for His Most High Son to be born. God sent a helpless Baby to save a hopeless world. “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).

We celebrate His birthday, but do we know who He is?

The word “Bethlehem” means the house of bread. It is where the Bread of Life was born in the precious form of a little baby boy named Jesus, that you would live forever. And the Lord Jesus said, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven…” (John 6:51).

The baby Jesus was laid down in a manger, and this word manger in Hebrew means “to eat”, as it was a feeding trough. And Jesus said “I am the bread of life” John 6:48.

Do you know Him?

It is interesting that when we celebrate the birth of Jesus that we do not get Him a gift, rather, He is the gift. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16).

The birth of Jesus was not the beginning of Jesus, only the beginning of His time coming in the flesh. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” (John 1:1,14)

You could interchange the Name “Jesus” for “Word” and you would get this: “In the beginning was [Jesus], and [Jesus] was with God, and [Jesus] was God. And [Jesus] became flesh and dwelt among us…” (John 1:1,14)

You cannot read the Word and miss what the Word is saying of Himself.

Do you know Him?

Oh, argue doctrines as you will, but you need to know who Jesus is.

When Father God spoke, His very words were Jesus. Jesus is the manifestation of the Father. And the Word became flesh. And this flesh is the birth of Jesus that we celebrate today.

Jesus stepped away from heaven, He put down His glory, and put on the shame of human flesh. “…Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:5-7).

He left the peace, tranquility and the perfection of heaven and He came to earth. If any of us were to take one step into heaven, we would never want to come back to this mess.

The Lord Jesus knew what was before Him when He left heaven. “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38).

People think of the Son of God as somehow less than God. But the Son of God is God the Son. Jesus claimed His own deity. “Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM’” (John 8:58). This is one of the seven “I AM” statements of Jesus, each one claiming He is God.

Jesus claimed if you have seen Him you have seen the Father. Jesus said, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30).

Do you know Him?

We have One God, three in essence: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three are One, yet each One is separate and glorifies the other. “And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him [Jesus], and a voice came from heaven which said, ‘You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22).

The humility of God is displayed in that the glory is always given from One to the other among the Trinity.

You cannot grasp the Trinity in its entirety because you can never get your arms around an infinite God.

We try to describe a God Who created all things, and all we can use are a few simple words of man, which is all that we can come up with. We don’t have enough words that we could describe Him.

We cannot describe Him with our language because He is above our language.

We cannot describe Him in our songs because He is above our songs.

We cannot describe Him within our finite because He is infinite. We can’t even understand infinite. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).

Jesus has always been the same. He is eternal. He did not begin at His birth on earth, but from the realm of eternity. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

Jesus is the manifestation of God. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth… All things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:15-16).

There is nothing accidental in the plans of God. Everything was planned from the beginning of time. Before the fall the Lord Jesus knew that He would have to save the world.

“He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God” (Revelation 19:13).
