Where there is fire, there is light.
“…[Jesus] will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Matthew 3:11).
We think we need to add to what God has, but it is the other way around.
The greatest hindrance in your ministry is you. The greatest anchor to your ministry is falling short at the limit of you.
Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit, but will we receive Him? Jesus promised, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26).
If the Holy Spirit is your teacher, then why are you only learning from the minds of man?
Men spend more time building PowerPoints than they do praying. Technology cannot replace the Holy Spirit, and often just gets in the way.
We have more gimmicks in our churches than we have the Holy Spirit, and we wonder why people’s lives are not being changed. Gimmicks entertain, but the Holy Spirit changes a man.
If you worry about being rejected by men, then you cannot be used much by God.
I can always tell when a message has no Holy Spirit, by how much of man we find in it.
The weakest messages are written by the strongest minds.
Just because you are impressed with your message does not mean He is.
The more you read from your notes, the less He can speak through you. “…do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” (Luke 12:11-12). Put your notes down and let the Holy Spirit preach through you.
You can always tell a preacher who does not have the Holy Spirit as his teacher, because all his inspiration comes from the commentary of man.
The problem we have is we have more words from man than a single word from the Lord in our services. If you don’t have a word from the Lord, then all you have are the words of man.
The problem with most sermons is they are born out of the tomb of men’s offices and not from the life of the Holy Spirit within them.
The same Holy Spirit that filled the Apostle Peter fills you. Stop thinking God cannot do great things through you, and just let Him.
You cannot force the power of the Holy Spirit from you, because you are not the source. It is only when you surrender in the natural that His supernatural can flow through you.
Prepare as you must, but be willing to let the Holy Spirit interrupt the service at any time.
Stop organizing the Holy Spirit out of your services. If you never leave room for Him, don’t be surprised when He doesn’t show up. “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. …And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” (Acts 2:2,4).
You don’t need a program, you need the Holy Spirit.
The main requirement to serving God is being filled by the Holy Spirit, everything else is only to impress man. When the apostles sought out those to serve in the church, their message was, “…seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint…” (Acts 6:3).
Stop seeking the gifts of the Spirit thinking you might serve God with them. Instead serve God as you are, that He would then provide you the necessary gifts in the midst of your serving.
The best messages ever preached were not written by men.
The Lord Jesus said, “‘He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive…” (John 7:38-39). We have many hearts behind the pulpits, but few rivers.
If you want to have a move of God, you must get out of His way.
It is good to work for God, but divine to work with God. One relies upon yourself, the other entirely upon Him.
The preacher is not there to coddle the people in their sin, but to warn them of the judgement that awaits them. Stop preaching a soft message that leaves people going to hell.
Just because your church is full of people does not mean they are going to heaven.
What is more important to you, serving God, or impressing men? You will do more for men when you determine to no longer try to impress them.
I can always tell the group on the narrow path by how few I find there.
Preach the Word, and let the cards fall as they will.
Let these be your words: “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4).

Thank you Andra! It is amazing for each of us, that as we let God use us, He will. It is a truth so simple that most pass it by while trying to do things of their own power. One of my favorite scriptures is Zechariah 4:6 “…Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit…”.
Amen! It is so much needed! This message is clear; it is much desired if we are going to see God’s people changed, healed, revived, and the message brought to the world with signs following.
Thank you so much! You hit the nail on the head, we need to see people changed. What is the point in having all sorts of programs if the people remain the same? We need the Holy Spirit to shake things up that lives might be made new!

Such a good word brother! How off people are, seeking the gifts, and passing right by the Gift of the Holy Spirit. How many long for gifts thinking they are to be received, when they are but to be used through us, not for our glory, but for His.
I would rather have the Holy Spirit and no gifts rather than all the gifts and anything less than the fullness of the Spirit.
